San Diego
We traveled to San Diego to participate in the celebration of Grandma and Grandpa's 60th wedding anniversary. We spent Friday decorating for the dinner/dance, but we played "tourists" on Saturday morning. Here we are at the Mormon Battalion Historical Site.
Dallin volunteered to be the "soldier" who was outfitted for the battalion. He agreed that it would be difficult to carry all of that gear for 1000 miles.
Henry enjoyed pumping water.
And here are Garratt and Spencer panning for gold. The Church has done an amazing job on remodeling this site. It is the best visitors center we have ever seen. It is very interactive and tells the story in a fun way.
After visiting the Mormon Battalion Historical site, we went to the beach. It was overcast and windy, so we stayed long enough to get wet. We did see some dolphins fairly close, though.
We got back in time to help with final preparations for the dinner/dance. It was very well attended (160), and we all had a wonderful time celebrating the marriage of two wonderful people and visiting with so many family and friends.

Wish we could have been there. I still haven't ever been to San Diego!
