New Garage Roof

The time was right to remove the old corregated metal roof from our garage and replace it with a shingled one that matches our house. Garratt had two weeks off from school, and we had a holiday, so we purchased the materials and got to work.
My job was to supply lemonade and ice water. After one trip up and down the very tall ladder, I became somewhat accurate at tossing the drinks from the ground to someone on the roof.
Not everyone was as afraid of heights as I was. Emmy was very proud of her perch on the roof, and was even more excited to hold "Uncle Garratt's big hammer" and the nail gun.
She said that they needed "sticky shoes" to walk up there.
On Labor day, Bob, Garratt and Jonathan worked all day and finished the back side of the garage. They have a few rows of shingles left to complete the front. They are all pretty stiff and sore, and bleeding from encounters with the walnut tree overhead. I think they have gone through as many ibuprofin tablets as roofing nails!
